Walker Methodist Westwood Ridge Employee of the Year: Daniel Nyanchoga

Anneliese Peterson | Oct 31, 2015

Untitled_design_9Here at Walker Methodist, our staff strives to live and breathe our mission  every day: Life. And all the living that goes with it. This mission is ingrained in all of us, and our staff goes above and beyond to help make the lives of our residents better. Every once in a while, one of our staff goes more than the extra mile, and we want to recognize them for it.

We recently held our annual Employee and Volunteer of The Year event in October. At this event, we honored Daniel Nyanchoga from Westwood Ridge. There are so many great things to say about him, but we believe the best testimonials come right from the residents themselves. Below you will find some of these amazing testimonials, so you too can see how lucky we are to have someone like Daniel on our team.

Testimonials

Myron A.

"Daniel lets me feel like a man. I pretty much need help with everything, but he talks to me like a guy and it leaves me feeling like I’ve had a visit from a friend. I look forward to him coming to visit me, it is one of the highlights of my day. What a smile!"

Barbara S.

"He’s just good, what can I say. He is focused on making sure that I have everything that I need. He wants me to have my cares the way that I want them. He never shows frustration or that he is pushed for time.  I feel like he is present with me and not thinking about what is next."

Orville Y.

"Daniel is a true gentleman it is clear that he enjoys his work and each time he comes to my apartment his smile and winning attitude come along with him."

Katie A.

"Daniel is just a nice guy, he is kind and never hurries me along, it’s like he has all the time in the world to walk me to the dining room."

Joan F.

"Daniel is a rare gem. He has something that can’t be taught. He is compassionate, genuine, kind, upbeat, and generous. This is a man that puts the needs of others before his own and he does it without loud trumpets or boastfulness. He would never tell you that this is the second shift today that he has worked, he just does it because he knows that a group of the most frail people are in need.  He comes to the apartment always contentious of the fact that he is entering your home. He provides care thoroughly and gently, always listening to the needs of the one he cares for. He doesn’t have to tell you that he enjoys his work, it is apparent each time he comes through the door."

As you can see, Daniel makes a big difference in the lives of our residents each and every day. He is a true asset to our team and we are so lucky to have him!
